Mark Zeme, M.D. is a board-certified otolaryngologist and head and neck surgeon, specializing in medical treatment and surgery of the ear, nose, sinuses, and throat. Dr. Zeme’s active medical and surgical practice encompasses all major diseases of the ears, nose and throat areas with an emphasis on advanced sinus surgical techniques, surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid glands, chronic ear disease, pediatric ENT surgery, and obstructive sleep apnea.

He sees patients at his Castro Valley office and practices surgery at Eden Medical Center, both Castro Valley and San Leandro campuses, where he served as the section chair of the division of otolaryngology for 10 years. Dr. Zeme also performs outpatient surgery at the San Leandro Surgery Center. He is a member of Children’s First Medical Group and the medical staff at Children’s Hospital, Oakland where he specializes in pediatric ENT surgeries.

Dr. Zeme is one of the only ENT physicians in the East Bay certified in Balloon Sinuplasty, an advanced, minimally invasive surgical procedure for treating symptoms of acute sinusitis with minimal or no tissue removal. He is also trained in Coblation, an advanced technology that safely removes tonsils and adenoids and can also relieve blocked nasal cavities with minimal damage to surrounding healthy tissue.
